If Chamberlain had acted in 1933, he would not have needed a war - Germany had no army yet. Britain, France and/or Belgium invaded germany without any problem in 1920, 1921 and 1923 to get reparations - why not in 1933 to enforce the military terms of the Treaty of Versailles.
the Britain would not have gone to war argument is specious.
