Subject: A bit more about our Greer....

ok so hopefully you attempted reading my previous message following on from the raging debate. i have done a small amount of research since. Oh Sarah i assume you have these texts of relevance on Germaine Greer. i couldnt borrow one could I?
well after a small amount of research i came upon a small biographical/analysis type article. In this article i found something i thought might be of interest. Like i say im not at all up on Greers thought and all but the jist of it being she is a feminist so strives for the better quality of life for women?(is this right if not correct me). Now in this article i found reference to the book "The whole woman" in which she writes "we were sold sexual freedom" and "the lie of the sexual revolution". So as a feminist she obviously appears to be attacking such sexual liberation. I assume she does this in other texts etc. and isnt big on supporting sexual freedom and all that kind of stuff. i know i really need to read into this to find out exactly what she is against but this is what the article implies. but it then brings up the point of her youth when she was at Sydney University. She hung around with a select group of anarchists and the such like who were all into non-manogamy. interesting in the face of her dislike of women being sold sexual freedom. I believe the main message behind "The Female Enuch" is that sexual repression deivitalises and basically cuts off a womans energy flow.( hope this is all rite. feel free to correct me if i am wrong). so in light of this fact how can she write about being sold sexual freedom and the lie of the sexual revolution in an attacking manner when she her self was a pre-eminent huckster of such doings? a trifle odd i feel. i just felt it worth pointing out that since her adolescence she has appeared to perform a complete 180 degree turn upon her monogamanistic views to the point of now embracing celebacy as opposed to the once sexual freedom and experimentation she once so freely practised. just an interesting thought. Sarah as you bought up the topic and it hasnt been fully discussed id be grateful for your views and comments on this(maybe its already been discussed like i say im new to this so just gimmie a while) and also that master mind that is Tyrone.
