Subject: Punk continued.

Also i have noticed something else recently. There are plenty of punk bands now that have been playing for many many years, been on many tours etc. Now there are a few punk bands that have a load of good musicians in. Seeing that most punk drummers are at least alright i want to mention punk guitarists. NOFX's lead guitarist more specifically. He can play some impressive solos.- IS THIS FAIR? At least on 'Pump at the vallium' he impresses me. It is safe to assume that said guitarist's technique (etc.) has developed over the vast number of gigs, tours etc. that have been played by X. Good. However these solos are spliced into the centre of a song based on a couple of riffs which span 7/8 power chords. IS THIS FAIR?

Why not allow this developed technique trickle into the rest of the songs. Fear? of what?- loosing appeal? eith fear or single mindedness that leads to approaching a new song with the same mindset. IS THIS FAIR?
Do i need to include 'that they love these sort of songs intrinsically, and do not get bored of them' as a separate possibility?

Some non-fattening food for thought. Go on get typing; lose some of that festive flab.
