Hi, Norm!

>Hi, I'm a big fan of your story and read it regularly,

Yay!

>but I do want to voice a note of concern. I'm very

>with that mindless hack who does The Greyhound
>Chronicles.

Now, Norm, this forum is for telling me I suck, not my coauthors suck!

>I mean, seriously, your work is stellar

Yes, it does resemble a massive flaming ball of gas, doesn't it?

>compared with the dribble that dolt creates. I
>seriously doubt that he's capable of writing
>instructions for a rock

I wasn't aware rocks came with instructions these days. Probably just so that Mother Nature can avoid a lawsuit...

>no less meet the high level of
>humor and storytelling you are more than capable of.

...yet never seem to live up to. *sigh* It's true what they say, there's nothing more depressing than knowing you have a great potential.

>I for one, will not be reading this story as I wish to
>prevent the severe head trauma that would inevitably
>accompany such an endeavor.

Actually, I think all the UH stuff should come with head trauma warnings. Apollo read 55 episodes of "Christopher Ford" in one sitting, and last I heard he thought he was Yuri Gagarin.

Oh my God, you're right! I could get a guaranteed feature in the Episodic for life!

>or Five Star City. Surely they would welcome a
>bit of frivolity and frankly they are capable of far
>superiour work.

Ah, but Norm, I like to encourage the youngsters. If the "Greyhound" is as bad as you say, it could use a shot of superior writing, no?

In all seriousness, Norm, I'm sorry you don't like TGC and think this Crossing Over is a bad move. The truth is, I like TGC a lot, and I think Technoatheist is one of the funniest amateur writers I've encountered, both on Usenet and his UH stuff, which is why I wanted to do this cross-over.

One of the things I like about the Grayhound is that it looks at the same idea that TFoHG does, but from a very different angle. And I think it'll be interesting to see how those two points of view collide.

Anyway, if you don't like the story, I'm sorry to hear it, but the fun and frivolity will continue after the cross-over, uh, crosses over, so don't stay away. Hey, give the cross-over a whirl anyway, you may be surprised.

And I appreciate the input, even negative input.

JIM, hey, it was nice of TA to let you use his computer, even if you don't like his writing
