After spending a half hour at the video store debating whether I wanted subject myself to "Pootie Tang" or "Snow Dogs," I gave up on both and grabbed Metropolis.

I'll say that JIM's analysis is pretty accurate, the plot, dialog, and voice work are pretty bland. In fact, I dozed off for a while.

But the graphics are freaking amazing. There's a scene in the beginning where Kenichi's uncle is explaining his purpose in Metropolis and there's this big graphic of a fish swimming around on the back wall. Too cool.

The best part about it is that it never tries to be anything but a cartoon, even with the cool graphics.
