I had SARPE on 6/29! I don't know what you have read about the surgery but trust me, I was amazed and very pleased with how it all went. I have to say that I was so scared. I had never been in the hospital and I had never even broken a bone or had stitches. I HAD NO PAIN from the surgery. I did have problems with the tube they crammed down my nose. My right nostril was pretty torn up as was my throat which made it difficult to take prescribed meds! I had my braces and the expander put on two weeks before surgery and I recommend that you do it that way too. This way you can have a wire put on the top teeth to start closing the gap as soon as your expansion is complete. I find the gap to be worse than the surgery. I am willing to help with any questions that you have about the surgery or expander. My biggest advice is just to do it! I have spent my whole life with an awful crossbite and just hating my teeth, the way I looked. My crossbite is gone and even with the gap my teeth are looking so good. I am just happy that I made it through and I can get this expander out in November never to have to do it again!!!
