I have a few additional suggestions for people who get alot of canker sores. I used to get them so frequently that I often had one just starting as a previous one was almost healed. I discovered about a year and a half ago that if I really limited the amount of sugar that I ate on a regular basis that I just didn't get those nasty sores anymore. A doctor stated that a high sugar intake can actually "feed" those sores. Since I now really limit the sugar I have developed less than 5 canker sores in the year that I've had my braces (not to mention losing 30 pounds!)...and the ones that I do get stay small instead of the dime sized ones I used to get. Also, I've had good luck with Colgate Soothe-N-Seal when I did get a sore. You can find it at your local drugstore.
