i don't know how "special" it is, but it's not like the ones i've seen before. the ones i've seen before have the metal piece that hooks on the top molars and a strap for the back of the neck.
the one i have has 2 of the metal pieces. one hooks into the top molar braces and the other one hooks into the same teeth but on the bottom. the strap goes all over the place on my head and back of my neck and looks kinda like a helmet or something made of strapping. most of the strap is made of like cloth but theres plastic pieces that go up against my face in front of my ears. i have elastics that i have to hook on those plastic parts and connect to the metal parts to pull on them.
sorry for the lousy description but it's the best i can do since i don't know all the ortho terms and stuff. sean
