Try your best to wear it. Yes, it's used on children, but it can also help on adults.

You'll eventually get used to it. Consider yourself luck, because there are people around here who have to wear it 24/7, including at university!

I can certainly understand your frustration, but I think you should try to wear it as much as possible. Even if you can't get in the full 12 hours a day, it will only delay your treatment time. But get as much time as possible. In fact, if you feel comfortable enough, wear it at work! I'm sure your coworkers will understand.
