Sorry about the terms,

I talk with a lot of doctors and sometimes I forget to describe in laymans terms. Distalize means move BACK.

Sounds like he is trying to push the molars back and then draw the front teeth back.

There are planty of ways to move upper back teeth back, I dont know your specific case obviously but there are a lot of ways to do it.
