Hi Pickle,
when i 1st got elastics,ortho added hooks to my 3rd from centre lowers, then put elastic from there to top molars, (underbite elastics i think), the pain wasnt so bad with 1/4" i found i couldnt lick the corners of my mouth ,tounge hit elastic, when ortho put 3/16" ones on the pulled lots more, just remember to wear them as told,and try not to "forget" them if you go out, as teeth do move back rather qiuck if you let them, by not keeping elastics in, i was told to change them 3 times a day, but i would change when they lost the strecthyness...

at my last ajustment monday last week ortho put elastics back on from top molars to same front teeth, i hadnt had them for 3mths, i got 1/4" this time...

i do eat with them in them take em out(if i aint swollwed them LOL ) and brush ect :) ...
