Why are we all so quick to judge?!!

I think she expected people to contact her by email (her address is given), which would make the source everything other than anonymous. If you were a reporter and you had to write an article/review on adult orthodontics to a tight deadline, where would you look for answers and first-hand accounts?!

It is crazy to assume that all journalists are evil scaremongers or biased. I personally would have been very grateful for a balanced and honest article on adult orthodontics (that dealt with both pros and cons) before making an expensive and life-changing decision. In any case, the positive side of orthodontics has always been obvious to me!!!! :-)
