They might never need to come out. My mom, who's 63 years old, still has one or two baby teeth and her dentist said that there's no reason to do anything about them. My baby canines had very little root left on them according to the x-rays and they wiggled a bit. Plus, they were in the adult canine position and were not doing the job of adult canines since they were so small. This put more stress on the other teeth. Every dentist who saw the x-rays (and remember, I saw ten of them) said that the baby canines were not going to last much past age 40, if that. I appreciated this after seeing the teeth once they were pulled out. They had maybe 1/4 to 1/3" roots.
