I started to see movement almost immediately after my powerchain went on, but my gap was right in the front (bottom). Within two weeks, the gap was over 1/2 closed! I'm sure it's different for everyone, and it probably depends on which teeth are moving, but I didn't see even a hint of movement for 6 weeks on those teeth before the powerchain went on, then suddenly.... yay! And it only hurt for a couple of days.
