I've known my ortho for ages, so I knew who my ortho was going to be. But I highly suggest you talk to the orthos' previous patients and see what they have to say about the orthos.

But also remember that there is still a chance for "surprises". During your treatment I suspect that it's always possible that you would need some sort of appliance that was not previously planned upon.

I've had tons of surprises. One being that I'd have no idea I'd have to wear a Nance appliance. But that's not my ortho's fault; it's my parents. Oh well.
