I totally agree with Bridgette. Change something – and have fun with it.

I had very long wavy hair pre-braces. I had my hair cut slightly above shoulder length into a chic, sassy, multi-layered do.

It accomplished two things 1. The hair change caused such a stir among friends and colleagues that no one noticed my braces. They were too busy looking at my head. 2. The cut gave me a more polished, professional and, I can even say, mature look.

I’m 30, and was mistaken for 24 before the braces. Now, people think I look even younger. Add sweats and a ponytail, and I’ve been mistaken for 16!!! Not good when you are trying to date.
