I had these (I'm in Australia; there are no "Fast Braces" locations but they're what my dentist uses) and I was done in 6 months. Having said that, I only had them on my top teeth and didn't make my bite 'perfect' so that probably speeded things up a bit. But I was very happy with them. I don't know about using just one wire though - I had three wire changes.
