>Ask your ortho if the spots are damage to your teeth or tartar. I am betting it is just tartar (hardened plaque). The only way to get tartar off is with a professional cleaning, and the only way to get rid of plaque is to clean it off often and thoroughly. I had to finally get a clock and brush my teeth/braces five full minutes and brush my roof and under my tongue and the gum above my upper teeth and below my lower teeth: searching everywhere for plaque--and floss each time I brushed. It was a battle, but I finally got it under control.
