I had my top back braces placed on in May 2003, and then had the remainder front top placed on in May 2004. My full bottom were placed on three weeks later.. and I loved the fact that my Ortho worked in these types of stages - gave me a chance to get used to one thing before another. I'm not sure how it would've been like to have everything placed on at the same time. (I'm such a wimp, lol) But I didn't notice it being more difficult to chew or anything, other than teeth being a bit tender to chew *with*. My bite keeps changing, so it's a challenge each day to figure out a new way to 'eat' but other than that - not a problem.
