Don't worry Cris, the average TPA wear is usually 3-5 months. Never the less, my ortho feels that I should wear it for the complete duration of my treatment because it will insure a correct bite.
I am sorry to tell you, but there is not much you can do to prepare yourself. Whe you get TPA it will be harder speak and you might develop a lisp. Just speak slower and think what you will say before you say it. In a short while you will get used to it.
