hello there

i've got them too. they are called disclosing tablets, and yes, they are to check that you're brushing your teeth properly. If the red (or purple) stains are left after you've rinsed your teeth then it shows that there is still plaque on your teeh and you should brush them again.

YOU DON'T SWALLOW THE TABLETS! You chew them and then swish them around your mouth with your teeth, all over. Then you spit it out and rinse your mouth a bit. Then whatever is left (red or purple around your teeh/gums) you brush again, and again if need be!

The stain usually lasts for less than 24 hours so best to do it during the weekends
