Hey cool, I got braces my sophomore year too. Between semesters in the middle of the year though, and without telling anyone first! Well, some friends knew I was thinking about it but right before Christmas, yeah I was sort of crazy, its a long story. They were supposed to be almost off by now (18 months) and I really didn't want to be wearing braces my senior year but even my ortho calls my teeth stubborn now so I just desperately hope I will get them off before I graduate.

Anyway, appointments while I'm in school haven't been a problem, and the ortho even works with me so I don't get surprises or painful adjustments right before big exams and stuff. (This can be important!) He has a few other student patients so he is used to it. I am a long way from home and usually stay on campus during breaks so changing orthos hasn't been much of an issue though our family ortho back home was just THRILLED to see me in braces when he saw me for a broken bracket emergency last year. It isn't a lot of fun all the time but it works out.
