Subject: Are my braces working?

Got my speed braces put on in April. Everything but the back molars were attached to a braided wire on top and bottom. Movement had occurred but rotation expected on the two incisors was non-existent. Because of this, in May, the braided wire was changed to a band and the front teeth and canines surrounding the incisors were separated with a spring on the band while the incisors were allowed to "free-float", disconnected from the band completely.

From May to July that method has spread the front teeth and canines apart to allow the future rotation of the incisors.

Last week as part of my scheduled visit, the top band was switched back to a braided one, the rotated incisors have been re-engaged with the expectation that there is now enough room for those incisors to be rotated into position.

My problem is, within days of this visit, it appears to me that the incisors have not started to rotate into position at all and instead, the canines and front teeth have closed back together again, leaving the incisors, once again, no room to move into position.

Im no expert and have faith that my orthodontists know what they are doing, but should I wait the full 6 weeks to allow the braces to do their work or should I schedule a visit ASAP to have my concerns addressed. I had a scheduled perio visit this morning and he said if it were him, he would call the orthodontist to talk about it.

What do people think? Should I wait the six weeks for the braces to do their work or should I bug the orthodontist with my concerns?

Thanks,

MetalMo
