My sentiments exactly...
Especially the last sentence.
As a parent, I believe my kids, and younger people in general, look for guidance as to how we, with more "mileage", handled a situation.
The best way you can teach them (in my opinion) is by leading.
If you tell them how to live their lives, they will go the other way.
Wish politicians would understand that :>)
As far as my teeth go, I can tell you that my parents didn't encourage me to straighten my teeth when I was young.
I can't blame them though, (well I CAN blame them, but I am not going to)!!
Anyway, sometimes your parents don't know what you need in life, or they can't afford it, or whatever!!
I can also say that I have ALWAYS HATED my teeth.
Everyone is a product of their own upbringing, and I feel the art of living is either to think like your parents, or learn that you DON'T have to think like them.
Either way is a learning process.
Didn't mean to be so philosophical, but eventually everyone becomes an adult, and realize (or SHOULD realize) that THEY are the captain of THEIR own ship.
In my opinion, that is when you decide what you REALLY want in life.
