Okay, don't laugh, but here's the idiotic thing I tried: My tongue was driving me crazy and I had this sore bit on the end of it from the constant poking, so I put that stuff on it that Colgate makes (that stuff you're supposed to put on cold sores--it's like a liquid you dab on with a little swab and then it forms a protective seal) and sealed up the tip of my tongue! Only then I couldn't stop messing with the seal. It felt weird and kind of numb and really quite bizarre, so then the rest of my tongue got sore because I kept trying to push the part with the seal on it up against my teeth to see if I could pull the seal off. I'm such an idiot! Ha ha! It was pretty funny. I at least give myself brownie points for trying. So, the tongue dilemna is not solved, but at least that's one "solution" we can scratch off the list...
