Now I'm getting nauseous... This kid doesn't need braces she needs a kick up the ring-gear - followed by a reality pill!

Pandering to a brat only exacerbates the problem!

>Aw honey I'm really sorry some people are being mean
>to you about your feelings of getting braces. Yes, I
>do think you are lucky to not have to pay for them
>yourself and you get to wear them early on (I am
>wearing braces at 20.. I wish I had them at 16 ;)),
>but at the same time it is completely normal for
>teenagers to not be excited about wearing braces.

>I think some of the adults on this board have to
>remember that while they have spent their entire lives
>WANTING braces (myself included!) that there are
>teenagers out there who don't mind their teeth and are
>being told to wear these big hunks of metal on their
>teeth for the next two years. :p A lot of teens are
>still in the mindset that braces are "geeky," while we
>have all realized that it's just a step in getting the
>smiles we want :D
>
>I think we need to cut ImReallyTired some slack--
>she/he (sorry for not knowing which!) is just feeling
>a little self conscious at the moment... maybe how we
>all did pre-braces?
>

>ImReallyTired- I wish you all the luck in the world
>and I hope you grow to love and accept for braces for
>as long as you may need to have them! :) If you would
