Subject: wheat intolerance may lead to schizophrenia

http://www.ivanhoe.com/channels/p_printStory.cfm?storyid=8056

report of new Danish study citing possibility of link between gluten intolerance and schizophrenia, expecially when the celiac sprue did not manifest classical symptoms.

if this link does not take you directly to the article, look for link to article on right side of the screen.

lots of "tummy problems" -- both major and minor-- can be celiac sprue but are often written off or misdiagnosed as stress, flu, or other problems. many riders consume lots of pasta-based carbs. pasta typically is gluten-laden wheat.

my celiac sprue kicked into overdrive when we went from eating pasta 4 times a year to 4 times a week. it took the doctors (and I saw more than 15 of them) nearly 4 years to confirm the diagnosis. during that time, I reached the point where I thought I was dying and made peace with God -- that's how bad and painful and desparate my situation seemed to be.

please feel free to contact me if you have any questons or want more info about celiac sprue.
