Both are right. I do respect Katerina very much but I discriminate her in relation with my girlfriend. This discrimination has nothing to do with place of birth.

Did I violate informal rules of communication? Perhaps. Maybe it is rude to say, without any further explanation: "I'm busy". But the next time I will do the same.
