…EXCITEMENT?

With southern Michigan hosting NASCAR’s Batman 400 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn on Sunday and games three, four and five of the NBA’s Championship at The Palace in Auburn Hills during the last week, will the people be able to take any more excitement?

After a long cold winter, outdoor sports are bursting out all over the northland. This coming weekend’s two K-9 PRO SPORTS Regional Trials to be held at CherCar Kennels in Saint Johns on Saturday and Sunday should provide a great finish to the month of June. The Capital Cities Dog Sport Association, host of the trials, is well known throughout the country for its professionalism in hosting dog sport trials as well as for the excellence of the dogs of its members competing in many different venues.

I plan on making the 1200 mile trip from Texas to support this fine bunch of working dog enthusiasts and hope that those reading this Message Board will join me there. It will be a great chance to compete with those in one of the hotbeds of working dogs and maybe also get an insight into what devious surprises Cheryl Carlson and the CCDSA have in store for everyone at their own 7th Annual Dog Sports Open on July 30th and 31st.

K-9 PRO SPORTS is still looking for a good working Cane Corso to award its Exotic Breed Award to for 2005. There are supposed to be some out there, but so far, with seven trials already in the books, none have gotten off the couch and came out to play. Maybe this will be the weekend we will see some CC courage.

I hope to see some old friends there and also to make some new ones. I’ll be the old guy in the red shirt with the slow, drooling, jug headed Rottweiler. Stop by and say hello. I won’t bite and old Zeus seldom does either. Hope to see y’all this coming weekend.
