The infant vixen nickered a respectful farewell to the Lead Mare. Her soulful eyes followed the retreating figure of Shadow, and she felt sad that the prospective playmate had to leave. She turned her hopeful gaze to Nightmare Angel.

Hi Angel. I'm String of Pearls. That's my daddy, Killjoy. And that's my mum, Black Pearl.

She motioned with a flick of her sculpted dial to the steel gray stallion and ebony-coated mare standing nearby. A lock of wispy mane fell over her eyes and she blew it out of the way with smile.

As soon as Nightmare Angel departed, a towering steed emerged from the shadows and startled his daughter, String of Pearls. He wore a sinister look as he approached the cowering filly.

You are not to associate with the filly Nightmare Angel nor any others. You know the rules, and you have broken them

A wave of wicked satisfaction passed through him as his opaque eyes bore into the shaken filly. He snorted gruffly then turned away from the daughter he despised so. His muscled neck curved as he looked over his shoulder.

Consider yourself warned.

The little nymph looked sadly to Angel. I can't play with you anymore. My daddy won't let me, she explained in a quivering voice. She turned away, head hung in gloom, and trudged away.
