(記者尚開智/洛杉磯報道)為了配合電影「夕陽天使」九月十二日在美國正式上映，該片的導演元奎、演員趙薇飛抵紐約，開始全美的巡迴宣傳活動。他們將於二十七日訪問洛杉磯，並參加一系列的媒體活動。由於與電影片期安排衝突，「夕陽天使」的另兩位主角舒淇、莫文蔚，以及韓國男演員宋承憲並沒有一同赴美。

「夕陽天使」是一部典型的警匪槍戰動作片，只是加入了借助電腦高科技犯案、衛星定位警匪追逐的特效製作，以及「駭客帝國」的打鬥動作設計而醒目。「夕陽天使」由哥倫比亞電影製作(亞洲)有限公司出品，2002年9月5日在香港首映。

雖然「夕陽天使」有一個醒目的動作片英文名「So Close」，可是九月十二日在美國上映時，仍將保持中文的對白，只是加上英文的字幕。發行公司表示，該片在美國主要針對東、西海岸的華裔觀眾市場，因此保有原音能更好的讓觀眾享受劇情。

至於其中的打鬥動作、以及高科技的特效製作，則會吸引一批主流的動作片迷，讓他們理解其中畫面與信息也並不複雜。
