武漢晨報訊記者方岩去年底，張藝謀的《英雄》橫掃全國電影票房，創下了國產電影近年來絕無僅有的佳績。《英雄》的DVD／VCD版權拍賣出了1780萬的天價，與《英雄》几乎同時開機的史詩動作巨片《天地英雄》的VCD／DVD也即將上市。

　　据一電影業內人士介紹，《天地英雄》的版權也賣了800萬元的高價。但購買方廣東中凱公司否認了這個數字，稱800萬元是馮小剛《手機》的價格，對《天地英雄》的價格始終
避而不談。

　　《天地英雄》講述了一個發生在盛唐時期大漠邊關的傳奇故事﹕戍邊校尉李(姜文飾)因違抗軍令，不愿屠殺突厥的俘虜而被朝廷通緝。日本遣唐使來栖(中井貴一飾)因屢次請求回國而被朝廷貶為捕快，派往西域緝拿逃犯。二人相遇后，一場大戰不分勝負，于是相約再戰。此時，他們碰上了護送經書的朝廷商隊、覬覦駝隊的地頭蛇安(王學圻飾)和曾被李所救的將軍之女文珠(趙薇飾)，而安的背后，似乎還另有主謀……一場生死大戰就此展開。“問天下誰是英雄？”內心頗有“俠氣”的何平導演力圖給中外影壇帶來一部充滿陽剛氣和英雄氣的巨制。

　　据了解，本市院線計划安排9月或10月上映《天地英雄》。該片發行方介紹，《天地英雄》的DVD、VCD最早會在7月上市。在《英雄》上映期間，由于光碟產品上市時間大大滯后于影片上映時間，以巨資購得版權的發行方擔心無法收回成本，一度出了張“槍版”。如果《天地英雄》的光碟產品先于影片上市，對電影院將形成“致命”打擊。
