Would you open a store and put plywood over the front window? Perhaps that is a good idea when a tornado is coming, but in general you will wind up feeling like a chump. Those few that were going to stop in are deterred by the sight.

Instead of plywood, consider a full ad campaign. Do not settle for just one shot in one direction. You can send unsolicited commercial e-mail. You can have ugly banners on obscure web sites and never-before-seen directories. Why not go for a full colour print ad in a limited-circulation publication in an entirely different country?

The point is, you do not have to choose. So long as your money holds out, you can annoy people with all sorts of advertising. And, if anyone sees it, maybe they will remember the annoyance when it is time to choose your services!

The benefit of advertising with an obscure spammer like Anthony Martini is that, ultimately, you bother few people. The downside is that you furnish money so that he does not starve and go away like other unwanted pests. The other downside is that attorney advertising, even on obscure and ineffective web sites, is still subject to your state's regulation. "Share and enjoy!"
