There are several exercises that are timed. Two significant ones are the Defense of Handler, where the dog has 2 seconds to bite after the hit. And the Search and find, where the dog has 2 minutes to find the decoy. At the last World Championships, a very powerful GSD was penalized in both exercises because the judge determined that he was late by seconds (or less!!). He was entering the blind enclosure in the search when he was beeped off. His handler, a very well known breeder and competitor, walked off of the field in protest. There are other timed exercises. The Retrieve. Maybe another.... But none of the timed exercises are really weighted toward the Malinois. They are weighted toward training and vigilance.
