Subject: A big Mondioring thank you.

Yesterday, at the Empire Ring Club in New York, “Mac” McClusky and myself certified as the newest Mondio decoys in the US.

It was… um… challenging and eye-opening, and I definitely have a lot to work on this summer.

I wish to thank Judge Michel Beyer for his patience with the “two old boys.”

Ludovic Teurbane for his advice and clarification of a number of rules.

Francis Metcalf and Ann Roche for making the long drive and officiating at the certification.

Ann Puttegnat for her continual support and the invaluable decoy book.

Matt Carraturo, Christine Johnson and the entire Empire Ring Club for allowing this to happen and letting us “mess” up their pretty field with our Mondio stuff.

Joe Ciannante for his tips.

My girlfriend, Elizabeth, who came home the night before and found me attaching balloons, with grains rice in them, to a houla hoop AND didn’t say a word.

And, of course, Richie Bonilla for the worst jokes you could imagine.

On a personal note, I’d like to thank the members of my club: Dan Butty, Sam Cannella, Bob Billyard and Jane Shelegy, who had the tolerance and grace to let me make a million rookie mistakes on their dogs.

Finally, to Mac… who moves like a guy half his age with the strength of a guy twice his size.

Nice work, bud.

David
