Subject: We learned a lot about Mondio Ring at the CA trial

I would like to Thank Belgian judge Jos Helsen for an awesome job at our recently completed trial.

I think everyone who participated learned a lot about Mondio Ring. What I took away is this: there are no routines in Mondio and our training must reflect that fact. Actually some of the things thrown at the dog were "anti-routines" ... During the defense of handler, the judge had the decoy flee as in a Schutzhund escape bite. He also had the decoy go into the blind to trigger the search routine in the dog. If your dog was conditioned to fall into these routines you were screwed at this trial. The dog must take all his commands only from the handler, irregardless of what the decoy does.

There is a depth and complexity to Mondio Ring that we are only begining to understand.
