My opinion....Going to church is like taking a shower. It is something you know you need to do, but you don't always want to. Sometimes you sing in the shower and want to stay in there forever, other times, you just dread it. But, you always manage to do it anyway, because you know it's good for you. I don't always get something from the music or the sermon, but sometimes I hear a verse that I think about the rest of the week or I see someone who reflects God's love and my energy goes up and it cleanses me, just like the shower does. It gives me a clean spirit and a clean slate for the new day or new week, whichever it may be. Maybe you are looking for the obvious sermon or hymn to touch you each week, but have you thought about the little things? Sometimes they are my "sermon" for the week.
