I wouldn't get too paranoid about your horse fetish, m'dear, since there's tons of ranches round these here parts. Rodeos are big events.
A local artist name Kelly Donovan is featured in the current edition (links at the top left of the home page), whose personal website can give a real feel for the place, I think. He's done a huge mural on the side of one building here, alas can't find it online at the moment. The article about him is under Columns "Art in the City: Ogden Mural Welcomes All".
