Subject: help wanted for paper

I am looking for MC Vietnam vets (1965-1969) who are willing to share their stories, feelings about what they have experienced during their tour and how they reflect on it now. I am a first year student psychology and am trying to get a paper written about war, with as casestudy: the Vietnam War.

I got interested in Vietnam as I got to meet some one who was there. By talking with him, I got to see I made quite some prejudges about Vietnam and the military in general. I got to read about the topic, that much that my point of view on the matter turned 180º. I began to see how people with ideological ideas got drawn into this (more political) battlefield, where in fact the troops were rather left on their own. The absurdity of some battles fought, just for the sake of enemy body count (if I may believe what I read). The fact you were only in control of the ground you stand on, and with the CAPs doing a good job, but due to politics never could hold their ground. But nevertheless, you holding on to a job and willing to do anything to make it work. Semper Fidelis.

If you are willing to help me out, you can contact me on: sashcroftjr@yahoo.com

Please, when you write, I would like to know the age you enlisted, your battalion, when you served in Vietnam and what you currently do.

Steve
