 Hills was my first job in Carlisle, PA back in 1989. I have many fond memories of my time at Hills. I recall being paid CASH instead of a check on payday. Also, full time was considered 25 or more hours worked per week.

For the longest time, Hills did not accept credit cards. They made a very impactful commercial conveying this concept. It showed a mountain of credit card bills coming thru the mail slot of a door just after the holidays. I think the tag line was "you will be paying for the credit card use during the holidays come Feburary."

My favorite Hills memory came from a Christian commercial that was run during the holidays. The commercial deplicted a pregnant Mary and Joseph walking thru the desert. The main line from the commercial said "this Christmas, open your heart first."

Hills was truely a one of a kind store.
