Cheers Stan.

I love the game of non-league football just like your good-self, and yes on occasions I find myself upsetting the odd person or two.

I don't court controversy, I just express my thoughts as and when I feel I should. I don't like upsetting people, as I often have, but I've got thick enough skin to shield myself from any backlash.

I'm working with a big circle of people at Skelmersdale United, and I can honestly say that I could trust each and everyone of them with my life, and that is an extremely rare commodity these days!

When all the money men & players have long gone, the supporters will always remain. I may be Chairman of our Football Committee, but I'll always be the clubs number one supporter. I don't believe in throwing money at a club to fast-track them to notoriety. I believe in the youth of our town and the importance of making the club an attractive proposition to them. Not just from the playing sense, but also as young supporters. Whilst creating a sound infrastructure, we should be keeping our fingers on the pulses of the community, because when all is said and done the future of a club is only as good as its structure & support.

In finishing it saddens me that Frank Parr has now stepped down as Chairman of Burscough, because with him at the helm, the club has always kept a sense of realism, whilst achieving great success. The Burscough story is an inspiration to us all...long may it continue. Good luck to all at Burscough, old & new. I hope you have a great season.
