Greetings John.
From what I have seen with Trance mediums I think it depends upon the trance medium themselves.

I do not recommend that one should allow any entity (besides that of their own guides) to enter ones aura.

Regardless of how learned they are.

The same and safely common way would be for one to receive the messages , for whatever they are off their guides.

I do not believe one has to go into trance to achieve contact at all.
Perhaps people prefer trance mediums for the reason of effect...
I have seen one trance medium speak like an american indian, The man did have control over himself and this is the MOST VITAL factor.
Control.. being able to have balance of control and allowing at the same time.

If we are talking taking over as possession. I do not feel I believe that an entity *fully* taking over a persons body and life.

There have been many reports regarding this area which to me is still grey.

I will ask my husband Daniel to comment on this topic as It is more in his particular area, certainly more so than mine.
