Our Little Miss Coming to Farmington
World Youth Federation in cooperation with Missouri State Our Little Miss is proud to announce one of its preliminary competition of 2006 will be held April 15 in Farmington. Farmington’s Easter Competition will be held on Long Memorial Hall in beautiful downtown.
The competition is open to all ages from 0-married women. The age divisions include Baby Petite (0-2 yrs); Miss La Petite (3yr-6yr); Our Little Miss (7yr-9yr); Our Little Miss Pre Teen (10yr-12yr); Ideal Miss (13yr-17yr); Universal Girl (18yr-28yr); Universal Ms. (29yr-Up) Married or has been married
Contestants will compete for these and other official titles in formal wear or Sunday best, casual wear and on-stage interview. There will also be an optional talent competition that will be open to all ages.
Our Little Miss is only a part of the vastly growing World Youth Federation of the Americas, Inc. WYF and its subsidiaries sponsor events for children and adults with its rewards ranging from college scholarships and educational travel to personal achievement benefits and family involvement.
Prizes will be given out in each age division that will range from trophies, crowns, sashes, medals and savings bonds. There will be a division winner in each age group and an overall winner that will receive a $100 savings bond.
In addition, the Missouri Our Little Miss organization is also a charitable one. The group will be donating all door admissions to the competition to local charities. Please call for more information.
This competition is an official preliminary to the Missouri State Our Little Miss finals to be held in June 3 in Columbia. All division winners and titleholders will advance to the state competition where more prizes and college scholarships await those who participate. State winners will advance to the World Our Little Miss finals, which will be held for the first time ever in St. Louis in July.
World Youth Federation's philosophy is that by giving children an outlet to express themselves and their talents, they are presented with growth and development aspects for personality, communication, discipline, memory training and grooming habits. Because parents play an important role when a child is in any competition, the family relationship is enhanced, especially that of the mother and daughter. Our scholarship competition does not condone stage parenting; the child must truly want to be a participant, enabling the fascination and glamour of the State and World events to become an educationally exciting family affair.
Although the company has never attempted to represent the winners through personal management, many of the girls have used their titles effectively in acquiring television commercials and movie roles. When Disney aired the new Mickey Mouse Club in 1975-76, five of the seven girls selected after a major nationwide search had been directly involved in the "Our Little Miss" pageant. Since those years, our girls are still being seen today. Jennifer Love Hewitt from "Party of Five" and Madlyn Sweeten from "Everybody Loves Raymond" also held Our Little Miss titles just to name a few. And, the current Miss America also held titles with Our Little Miss. Our Little Miss girls can be seen on almost every cable and network station, some being in front of the camera and others as network executives.
Entry forms can be picked up by calling Angie Dunn, state director at 816 494 5556 or by calling 573-241-0601. Check out www.ourlittlemiss.com.
