These articles seem to show a willingnes on Isonics part to cooperate with other companies in an effort to get this Silicon-28 Technology up and running.

PRELIMINARY SILICON-28 TEST RESULTS

6 April 2000

Preliminary results from studies co-funded by Silex and conducted at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Lincoln Laboratories over the last 18 months have confirmed that the use of enriched Silicon 28 wafers in semiconductor devices may provide technical benefits beyond the already known effects of enhanced thermal conductivity.

These additional technical benefits relate to improved electrical properties in semiconductor wafers as explained in the attached release to the NASDAQ market by our research partners, Isonics Corporation. Further tests will continue in several laboratories in the US over the next 6 to 12 months. These tests will collectively determine the technical benefits produced by using enriched Silicon-28 wafers in semiconductor devices such as computer chips.

Meanwhile, in a separate program being conducted solely by Silex at our research laboratories in Sydney, the technical and economic potential of applying SILEX technology to the enrichment of Silicon and other stable isotopes is being assessed. As announced on the 14th of February, Silex is currently accelerating its Stable Isotopes Program, focussing initially on Silicon and Carbon enrichment.

Silex is hopeful that positive results from the Stable Isotopes Program and studies such as those conducted at MIT, together with a growing interest from semiconductor manufacturers, will lead to significant demand for enriched Silicon-28 which may be produced by SILEX technology.

Silex believes that if successfully developed, the commercial potential of enriched Silicon could rival if not exceed that of enriched uranium, the other major application of SILEX Technology currently under development.

Yours sincerely

Dr Michael Goldsworthy
Managing Director

Forward Looking Statements

Silex is a research and development company whose assets are its propriety rights in technologies, including the SILEX technology. The company’s technologies are in the development stage and have not been commercially deployed. Accordingly, the statements in this announcement regarding the future of the company’s technologies and revenues are forward looking and actual results could be materially different from those expressed or implied by such forward looking statements as a result of various factors. Factors that could affect future results include, but are not limited to, results from the Pilot Module Program, the Pilot Plant Engineering Study and the Pilot Plant Program, the development of alternative technologies and the demand for enriched materials, including uranium and silicon.

Isonics Corp. Reports Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Preliminary Silicon-28 Test Results

GOLDEN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2000--Isonics Corporation (OTC BB:ISON - news) announces preliminary test results from studies at MIT's Lincoln Laboratory conducted during the past 18 months using Isonics' proprietary silicon-28 material in silicon-on-insulator (SOI) wafer applications.

MIT performed their tests using Isonics supplied wafers to build devices and test structures including, transistors, capacitors, amplifiers, ring oscillators, and other devices that were provided by numerous industrial and academic program participants.

Over 400 different electrical tests were performed. Researchers found 14 parameters that indicated specific significant advantages of Si-28 compared to natural silicon.

Threshold voltages for transistors were lower; and drive currents, transconductance, and leakage currents were higher, for devices made using Isonics' Si-28 versus natural silicon.

Capacitance measurements on the Si-28 wafers were significantly more uniform and had fewer gate oxide failures than the natural silicon wafers.

All test results indicated that Si-28 performed as well or better, as noted above, than natural silicon.

``These preliminary test results reinforce our belief that silicon-28 will have significant application throughout the semiconductor industry, well beyond our initial target market of high- performance microprocessors. Isonics continues to support MIT and their industrial and academic program participants in completing the evaluation of additional test structures,'' commented Isonics' CEO, Jim Alexander.

Isonics Corporation is a specialty chemical and advanced materials company which develops, commercializes, and markets stable and radioisotope based products. These ultra-pure materials provided enhanced performance properties and have commercial applications in several areas, including semiconductor devices, medical diagnostics, imaging and therapy, drug development, and energy production.
