Here is some general information on how autosilence works. This is what was discussed with BK.

When you activate autosilence, QLaunch grabs your current sounds settings at the time that autosilence was activated, and then when the time is up, it restores the sound settings that it grabbed when the feature was activated. If your sounds were off when you activated autosilence, then those are the settings that will be restored when the time expires. I have NEVER seen this not work correctly.

I was implemented this way so that it always used your current sound settings, and would not need another setup item for the values you wanted restored, and perhaps those values would end up out of sync with your current system preferences.
