hey scott,

the security app is just what is built-in - the auto-lock feature (under preferences, under security). I'm not sure how the creator of easylock did it, but if you didn't enter the right combo it went to straight to the password screen (from the built-in security autolock). then obviously, the only way in was to enter the password (that is specified under preferences).

Easy lock also had a image file that it would access as soon as you tried to enter (an image that would say something like enter the password, it also was configurable).

yeah, what you are describing sounds good to me, like if you don't get the right combo after 2 tries or something, go straight to the security app. and if you turn it off and turn it back on, it will still be stuck at you having to write in the password..

the nice thing is that it provides a decent amount of security from the majority of people, and most people aren't even going to think about hitting power-on and some other combo of keys to turn the unit on, and after they do try a few times, it goes straight to having them have to write in the password, so they can't try any more times to figure out the combo.. AND it's relatively quick for the person who uses it reguarly, because they can turn it on and off with just hitting a couple of keys, so it doesn't necessarily slow down their usage at all.
