Four swift shadows melt from the Balkar camp to this new unexplored place, nares flaring wide and each step careful, wary, though they do not yet know why. Normally they would have stampeded in, 'guns blazing', so to speak. The smallest female halts in her tracks.
Nikira stops, bristling wildly. Such evil this place possessed..such power..Her left paw was in mid-air, orbs staring wide at the rows of statues.
"Lets' go back.
She took a step backward, casting her sight about the terra. Back to the Balkar camp at least. Her eyes locked with Chijiresusus', and then her brothers', pleading.
A strangled sort of furious cry escaped Demon, and he lunged forward, jaws snapping and sending saliva everywhich way.
"Weakling! This is the temple of wolfbane, you fool. And you dare turn away from its' greatness? He can grant great power, I heard, to those who deserve it!"
Religion wasn't one of Demons' things, but he set his beliefs most in the evil varg warlord. The power this varg had was unsurpassed by any mere mortal. HIs voice was loud, and edged with venom.
Nikira instinctively flinched and growled, leaping out of reach whilst her jaws swung to collide with his muzzle in her sudden fury. She leapt forward in the next instant, digging into Demon for all she was worth, jaws snapping at an incredible speed for one who held herself so low and moved so clumsily. she was not a weakling!
Demon leapt forward as well, colliding with her smaller form. He didn't bother to attack. Had it been any other wolf, Chijiresusu or even Brechin, for example, because of Demons size they would have simply absorbed the attack with some difficulty and moved on. But Demons' attack was far more sucessful than first imagined.
With the force of Demons' attack, Nikira was sent flying, where she hit one of the statues in the forelegs with a thump and crumbled to its' paws in a heap of bruised flesh. She leapt up an instant later, and lunged forward, a horrible snarl escaping her maw.
Demon sidestepped and smirked, though fresh scratches adorned his frame.
"I will not fight you, Nikira. We all know what the outcome of that will be. You've seen, Nikira, with your own eyes, you fool. Every varg I've battled has died."
He turned, and slipped into the temple, dark gae shifting about.
Chijiresusu sat stunned, before leaping forward and catching Nikira about the scruff.
"Leave him be. What he says is true, and you know it. Lets' go."
Turning, Chijiresusu left the temple grounds, allowig Demon his space. Chijiresusu didn't, and never would, worship a god. She had spent too much of her life fighting for the next day to come, and no god had helped her. Therefore, her faith was diminished in any gods in any way, shape, or form. There was only her family that mattered.
Diablo slipped after Chijiresusu, not too interested at the moment to worship anything.
