Sitting here thinking about what KISN could be doing (instead of doing my actual job, don't tell anyone). I just can't think of a way out of their format predicament! Counting the Mercury stations, they have Hot AC, Soft AC, Alternative, Oldies, Classic Rock, Country and Top 40 covered.

Leftover formats? Mainstream Rock? Between Channel and KURR, not the best idea. Active Rock? Channel's not too far off from that. Not room for 2 smooth jazz stations in the city. Urban formats don't sell well enough around here for CC to be interested.

My favorite idea is another AAA station. I know the Mountain failed, but from what I understand, they kept tinkering with it instead of trying to let it grow. AAAs are stations that you have to have a long term plan and stick with. CC owns KBCO in Denver, a really good AAA. It's a thought. Man it'd be fun to hear CC hire Jon Carter away from Arrow, put him on a AAA and set him free to do what he wanted. Or Kelly Monson, I've always enjoyed him.

Just thinking out loud!
