Picking cal letters is not an easy or exact science! First of all, they may have wanted something different, but it was already taken. What, for example, would you suggest for an oldies format? KOLD? KAGE? K-FOGEY? K-45'S? KDED? KGON?

I would probably try something like KOBG, KHIT, or KAOR. Or, KEAP, the KEAPer! (those are Elvis's initials after the "K"). Station slogans: the Smile, the Buzz, the Quest, the Breed or the Blade.
