And maybe because no other station in town does news really.

KNRS tries, but they have NO NEWS in the afternoon. At least nothing comparable.

KLO tries, but same thing. NO afternoon news.

At least KSL has a board-op who's 24 hours, so they can report news at 2 AM, although it's not NYC or LA quality news by any means. But it sure beats KNRS or KLO's nighttime news coverage.
